Nominator's project description

Professor Damjanovic is a world-renowned leader in fundamental and applied investigations of ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials. He has made outstanding contributions to the understanding of the dielectric and electro-mechanical properties of these materials such as crystals, ceramics, and thin films and their application in sensors, actuators and transducers. During his stay in Germany, he will focus on emerging properties like strain due to chemical expansion and interaction of dislocations with domain walls.
